Speech therapy is a paramedical and rehabilitation majors that examines how language is understood and developed. Also it examines different aspects of language such as: vocabulary, grammar, use of language, different aspects of speech such as how to produce or pronounce different words, the background of stuttering, how to produce sound or voice, and the desired sound characteristics. Swallowing disorders and their methods of diagnosis and treatment are also considered. There is no age limit for patient admission in this field, and people can benefit from speech and language pathology services from infancy by providing counseling to the family until old age.

Services provided in speech therapy center include the following areas:

  • Pediatric Disorders: Swallowing and Nutrition Disorders, Delayed Speech and Language Development, Hearing Loss, Mental Retardation, Down Syndrome, Speech Motor Development Disorders
  • Neurological Disorders: Cerebral Palsy, Tongue aphasia due to stroke, Name aphasia due to stroke, Recognition aphasia due to stroke, Speech Motor Disorders, Swallowing Disorders, Stuttering
  • Ear, nose, throat and larynx disorders: cleft lip and palate, voice disorders, production and pronunciation disorders, exacerbation disorders
  • Psychiatric Disorders: Pervasive Developmental Disorders (Autism and Asperger), Hyperactivity Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Reading and Writing Disorders
